Dr Jerson Pereira is a consultant psychiatrist with 29 years’ experience in psychiatry with 19 of those at consultant level. He has worked both in the public and private sector. He did psychiatric training in India and further re-trained at the Maudsley Hospital rotational scheme before being a Consultant at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He has worked in the inpatients, community, and crises team settings. During his time there he was also involved in the training of medical and nursing students from Kings College, London. He was also an appraiser of consultant and specialty doctors and was the Lead Consultant for Adult Mental Health Services in the Lewisham area of SLAM.

He is a highly skilled clinician with expertise in a broad range of mental health problems from common disorders such as anxiety and depression to more complex problems such as psychoses and Personality disorders. He is skilled in the management of both minor and severe mental illness. He has worked with both men and women throughout his career and is Group Medical Director at Southernhill Hill Hospital and other hospitals for both male and female units. He is also a believer of prevention of mental health issues and is a Mindfulness practitioner and trainer.
