Consultant Occupational Therapist

I qualified as an occupational therapist in 2012 and have experience working with all ages. I have in-depth experience working with children, adults and older adults in the community. I have over 10 years' experience in working with individuals who have a range of physical, emotional, sensory and learning difficulties including, Autism, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Anxiety and Depression in a range of settings. I have developed my expertise as a Consultant Occupational Therapist while working within the NHS, local authority and private companies as well as charities.

After qualifying in BSc occupational therapy, I went on to work for the NHS and local authority and worked alongside housing associations, surveyors and architects to help service users in the community along with completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy. I then specialised in Paediatrics, initially working in the community and covering specialist schools and also working for an Autism Charity where I am developing an Occupational Therapy pathway within a charity as a Senior Occupational Therapist.

I currently specialise in assessing and diagnosing ASD with other professionals. I provide comprehensive assessments and reports as well as therapy intervention to support each child achieves their potential. Over the years I have developed my competencies through practical experience, personal research, expert supervision and attendance on specialist training courses and post graduate modules. This has helped to develop a high-level of clinical reasoning, necessary when assessing and treating patients with highly complex needs and when providing an expert opinion to other professionals, clients and family members.
