Specialist Pharmacist

My name is Marylyn Nathan-Wilson, a Specialist Pharmacist with more than 22 years of professional experience. Over the course of my career, I have assumed diverse roles including Chief Pharmacist in Health and Justice settings, Director of Pharmacy at the Churchill London Clinic (Private Mental Health), and Independent Prescriber for the 111 NHS Helpline Service, Primary Care, Substance Misuse services, and private practice. With a specialised focus in mental health spanning 15 years, I have had the privilege of collaborating closely with esteemed consultant psychiatrists in adult ADHD treatment.

I have a proven track record in delivering high-quality patient care within secure environments such as prisons, forensic units, and substance misuse clinics, which has deepened my understanding and knowledge in evidence-based care delivery.

My experience in forensic settings has underscored the under-diagnosis of ADHD compared to other co-occurring mental health conditions. Addressing misdiagnoses has been pivotal in improving outcomes and reducing recidivism among patients, highlighting the transformative impact of accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Educationally, I graduated from the School of Pharmacy, University of London in 2001, and I am a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPSGB). I furthered my credentials with a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychiatric Therapeutics in 2010 and completed my Postgraduate Independent Prescribing qualification in 2014. Additionally, I hold certifications in Pharmacy Practice and Management of Drug Misuse Parts 1 & 2 from the Royal College of General Practitioners.

I am dedicated to continuous professional development and I remain abreast of evolving clinical practices, legal frameworks, and ethical standards to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

Beyond my professional commitments, I am actively involved in church service and mentorship programs for students pursuing careers in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
