ADHD Practitioner
Omolara (prefers Lara) Adigun is a highly experienced Mental Health Nurse and Independent Nurse Prescriber with a strong clinical background spanning ADHD service, substance misuse treatment, CAMHS, and prison healthcare. She is recognised as an autonomous practitioner with advanced assessment, prescribing, and risk management skills, consistently delivering safe, patient-centred care across both remote and face-to-face settings.
Omolara has developed specialist expertise in ADHD assessment and management for adults and young people, including diagnostic evaluation, medication initiation, titration, and ongoing review in line with NICE guidance. Her practice is underpinned by robust physical health monitoring, shared decision-making, and collaborative shared-care arrangements with primary and secondary care providers. Alongside her ADHD work, she maintains extensive experience in substance misuse services, delivering detoxification and opioid substitution therapies while coordinating multidisciplinary care pathways and safeguarding interventions.
Her professional portfolio also includes prescribing and mental health care delivery within prison environments, as well as earlier CAMHS crisis and liaison roles where she supported complex presentations, safeguarding processes, and neurodevelopmental referral pathways. She holds a Practice Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing, a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing, and a BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Omolara remains committed to lifelong learning, evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and improving access to high-quality mental health and neurodevelopmental care. In her spare time, Omolara is a strong advocate for mental health and neurodivergent awareness, contributing to initiatives aimed at reducing stigma and promoting early intervention. She is a mother to 4 grown up children, enjoys spending time with her family, reading nursing and medical journals, travelling and cooking.
