Asma

ADHD Pharmacist practitioner

I graduated with a Masters in Pharmacy in 2012 and initially worked in community pharmacy. In 2019, I expanded my career by qualifying as an independent prescriber and transitioned to working in a GP surgery. Since 2021, I have specialised in ADHD, further deepening my expertise in this area.

Whilst working as an established community pharmacist, I gained extensive experience in delivering high-quality patient care, managing medication therapies, and providing personalised healthcare advice. My role in the community setting allowed me to build strong patient relationships, ensuring their medication needs were met while offering support and guidance on various health issues. This foundation in community pharmacy has been instrumental in shaping my approach to patient care, which I have carried forward into my specialised work in ADHD management.

As a prescribing pharmacist working in a GP surgery, I was responsible for managing and optimising medication regimens, conducting comprehensive medication reviews, and prescribing treatments within my scope of practice. I collaborated closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients received the most appropriate and effective care. My role involved monitoring and adjusting treatment plans for chronic conditions, offering expert advice on medication management, and ensuring the safe integration of new therapies, all of which contributed to improved patient outcomes and enhanced practice efficiency.

Currently as an ADHD specialist, I have developed a deep understanding of managing and supporting adults with ADHD. My expertise lies in, providing tailored treatment plans and offering ongoing care to optimise patient outcomes. My background as a clinical pharmacist and independent prescriber enables me to integrate medication management with holistic care approaches, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive and personalised attention. I am committed to staying at the forefront of ADHD research and best practices to continually enhance the quality of care I provide. I work closely with patients to monitor their response to medication, address any side effects, and adapt the treatment strategy as needed. My goal is to help adults with ADHD improve their focus, organisation, and overall quality of life, ensuring that each patient receives personalised and holistic care tailored to their unique needs.
