Heather

ADHD Nurse practitioner

I have 8 years experience working in mental health, initially working in inpatient forensic settings before moving to acute mental health inpatient settings in the north east of England.

I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2019 after studying at Teesside University and have since worked as a community mental health nurse with a specific interest in adult ADHD. For the past 3 years I have carried out assessments for ADHD for  patients within my team.

I am highly committed to delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care, considering any additional mental or physical health conditions I am a passionate advocate for raising awareness about ADHD, I believe that education and communication are essential for promoting understanding and acceptance within our communities whilst tackling stigma around the diagnosis.

I have seen first-hand how assessment and treatment can change lives in such a positive way and allow all individuals with ADHD to thrive.
