Devendra Narayanaswamy

Consultant Psychiatry

I began my medical education in India, graduating in 1999, and have been working in the NHS's mental health services for the past 18 years, spending seven of those years as a locum consultant psychiatrist.

After completing my basic specialist training in psychiatry at the Wessex Deanery in Southampton, I became an affiliate member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2011, achieving full membership in 2021. My career has covered various subspecialties in both adult and children's services, contributing to a broad scope of expertise.

I have extensive experience in multiple disciplines, including substance misuse, adult and CAMHS inpatient services, eating disorders, and forensic inpatient units. I have also worked in community CAMHS services and currently serve as a locum consultant psychiatrist in CAMHS in Hull.

My clinical skills encompass the assessment and treatment of a diverse array of mental health issues, including ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, OCD, psychosis, mood disorders, and PTSD. I am committed to my professional development and actively engage in peer group meetings, educational teachings, audits, appraisals, and management meetings to stay abreast of the latest advancements in psychiatry.
